London is a great city whose people are very gentle and friendly. Unfortunately not everyone is as honest as most of the Londoners are. Like the managers of the Hotel that we were unlucky to choose. Having booked it through Internet on booking.com at Pembury Hotel / Central Park Hotel London, we were surprised at our arrival by the fact that we were displaced to a “very near” hotel 4 miles farer from London Centre. Not before they made us pay in advance, of course. In fact it seems that we had a Metro Station not so far, at the extreme of the Tube Zone 3 (when we’ve paid to stay on zone 2). Well, I’m not going to tell the name of the Hotel that replaced ours for 2 reasons:

  1. It was not their fault
  2. Don’t want to make bad publicity

Well, to make a long story short: it was dirty, noisy, the rooms didn’t have toilet or didn’t have shower or none of them worked. One of us slept in the room of another couple because is bed was just not usable…

But we hoped that next day we would arrive to the hotel we’ve booked and everything would be fine (including the apologies). Well, they let us put the luggage on a room so we could wait to check-in after 2 pm. When we arrived at 7 they – believe me – didn’t have a room. No way we could talk to any manager, no way to talk to the receptionist that had us in that morning. No way to get us a room except by going after the guys they installed before and make them leave to give us one!!!

The rooms were a little less than ok but as we had such a surprise the night before we were ready for the worst. If it wasn’t for a heater that nobody could turn off. They say London is cold but the weather was pretty nice that Saturday: like 27 degrees outside and about 45 inside the room that they managed to get us. Of course we asked for a tool to do it by ourselves but they didn’t have it. A nicer receptionist was ready to give a simple plier to us the day after. So we’ve done it. And we slept. When we’ve tried to ask for the manager to claim about the poor conditions we’ve been submitted to nope! When we’ve tried to ask for the Complaints Book (normally it is mandatory to be available in a commercial establishment in Europe) they didn’t had it, then they had it, then they didn’t had it, then they gave us a white sheet of paper asking us to write down our claim so that the manager would transcribe it after to the Complaints Book (!!!!!). Well, that’s all, not bad for 3 nights. I would like to know what I may do to be compensated for all this (especially the overpriced first night).

Waiting to hear from you soon,
